Thank you to Editor Mark Antony Rossi for publishing my tribute poem today.

Iryna Zarutska

Dear Iryna, hello.

Do not let your spirit linger on this train.

Do not allow your dreams to melt into your last seat.

Drift from the scorn of war that laughed in your face.

Fly from sharp evil that lurked behind you.

Take your faith with you,

for it is of little use

in this place where the rot of sin is courted.

Stand tall and walk freely

in your place of peace.

All anxious days are behind you.

You are where nothing can harm you,

and only love can reach you.

Dear Iryna, goodbye.
