Voting With Rocks

No sham consequence, this –

In a whatsoever decade,

where matured weaponry has walloped mankind,

its technical display having beaten us back,

leaving us with only a discomfited chafe

after all ambitions were thwarted.

Those who stood opposite the vicar and now stand as kings,

have caused a destruction,

beyond anything a plaguing microbe could do.

All those dollars, all for naught.

There’s a hellish reverting,

a new pinioned craze

guided by opportunistic interlopers,

showing man may no longer grow.

There’s no one to revoke unreasonable deaths,

leaving us with only one likely industry – burial

Now the lonely lever has been abandoned.

Any wretched penmanship

on paper ballots is no longer necessary to decipher.

We’re now all voting with rocks,

a stony morphine for the masses.

Our downward stampede,

assures us within the rubble,

that no nation, ancient or modern,

will be revitalized.

We need only sit on the quarries,

and wait for the end.
